CNC Fabrication Study: Modern Plywood Rocking Horse
Original Design Concept: Drill Design
This project focuses on the technical reverse-engineering and precision manufacturing of a modern rocking horse. The objective was to demonstrate a full “Screen-to-Machine” workflow, transitioning from digital reproduction to CNC machining and fine woodworking assembly. The project emphasizes tight tolerances, material optimization, and high-quality finishing techniques using Birch plywood.
Highlighted Skills
CAD/CAM Workflow: Creating and converting 3D geometry into G-code for production.
Material Management: Nesting and stock optimization.
Complex Assembly: Managing open time and pressure distribution during multi-part lamination.
Surface Finishing: Spray application and defect correction.
