Modular Plywood Kitchen Unit
A custom-fabricated mobile kitchen unit designed for flexible living spaces.
This project explores the intersection of digital precision and traditional woodworking assembly. Designed entirely in CAD, the compact mobile kitchenette was engineered for efficient material usage and structural rigidity. The components were nested and machined from high-quality beech plywood using a CNC router.
The assembly utilizes hidden joinery to maintain clean lines, while the exposed plywood edges are a central design feature. To contrast the natural warmth of the timber, the fronts were finished in a vibrant, spray-painted blue, and the workspace is a durable, CNC-machined HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) countertop. The entire unit is finished with polyurethane varnish for durability and mounted on heavy-duty casters for flexibility in open-plan spaces.
